TXT to EPUB Converter

Turn plain text files into an EPUB e-book with a real table of contents. Runs in your browser, your file is never uploaded.

Drop .txt files here

One file is split at its chapter headings. Several files become one chapter each, in filename order.

Large files can be slow on phones, and very large ones may not open there at all. A computer handles them best.

How it works

01

Find the chapters

Lines such as "Chapter 12", "Ch. 12", "Chương 12", "第12章", "Prologue" or "Part 2" start a new chapter. You can add your own pattern.

02

Check the contents

Before anything is built you see every chapter with its first words and word count. Rename titles or merge chapters.

03

Build the EPUB

You get an EPUB 3 file with a table of contents, a fallback for older readers, and your title, author and cover.

Limits

  • Chapter headings must sit on their own line. Headings in the middle of a paragraph are not found.
  • Paragraphs are split at blank lines. Text without blank lines becomes one long paragraph per chapter.
  • Formatting such as bold or italics does not exist in a TXT file, so the EPUB has plain paragraphs.
  • Very large files can fail on phones, which have less memory.

FAQ

Is this TXT to EPUB converter free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no account and no watermark.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Your browser reads the text and builds the EPUB on your computer. The file is not sent to our server or anywhere else.

Does it handle DRM?

TXT files have no DRM. The tool only converts text you already have and have the right to use.

Which files and sizes work?

Plain .txt files in UTF-8, UTF-16, Windows-1252, Windows-1258, GB18030, Shift_JIS or EUC-KR. Several files at once become one chapter each, in filename order. Large books work on a computer.

What if my chapters are not found?

Type your own heading pattern, such as "Episode {n}". Or keep the whole file as one chapter, or split it every few thousand words.

Only convert files you have the right to use. This tool works on files you already have; it does not download books and does not remove DRM.
